Match Overview

Linfield edged Cliftonville 1‑0 at Windsor Park, with Ethan McGee’s header 10 minutes after the restart sealing back‑to‑back league wins for David Healy’s side.

The Only Goal

The match opened with a tight first half and few chances. Linfield’s Dane McCullough delivered a deep cross from the left, which was cleared by Kyle McClelland to the edge of the box. Kirk Millar curled a half‑volley that Peter Morrison was equal to as he tipped the ball around the left‑hand post. Minutes later, Kieran Offord almost caught Morrison out, but the defender held on. The Blues increased pressure in the second half and were rewarded when McGee rose highest to head home Adam Frizzell’s corner from the right‑hand side.

Cliftonville’s Attempts

Cliftonville came close to equalising 10 minutes later when Liam McStravick struck a right‑footed shot that missed the target. Substitute Joe Gormley nearly found the bottom corner late on, but the ball stayed off target. In injury time, Kobei Moore had a chance to add to the score, but Morrison stood firm and cleared the danger.

Aftermath

Linfield travel to Limavady next weekend, while Cliftonville will face Dungannon Swifts at Solitude.
